For the past fifteen years, football kit manufacturing has been dictated by aerodynamic efficiency and high-tensile elastane. Match-worn shirts are engineered to cling to the torso, minimize drag during sprint acceleration, and prevent opposing defenders from grabbing loose fabric.

When translated directly into daily wear, performance compression fails. It rides up on the waist, bunches aggressively around the armpits, and exposes skin awkwardly when arms are lifted. The silhouette communicates gym gear rather than intentional sartorial design.

Proportions That Work: Dropped Shoulders and True Chest Width

To construct the Ornament Jersey in Obsidian, we re-architected the classic sportswear block from scratch. Rather than tapering towards the hem, the body is cut straight from pit to waist.

The shoulder seam is shifted 4.5 centimeters down the upper arm. This allows the 180 GSM recycled polyester to fall under its own gravitational weight, creating clean vertical lines without cling.

The sleeves are lengthened slightly to terminate just above the elbow crook, framed by a firm 4px black and gold ribbed cuff that maintains its circular aperture even when you are in motion.

Choosing Your Size: True to Size vs Downsizing

Our sizing is calibrated so your true size yields the intended boxy, editorial drape. If you typically wear a Medium in tailoring or outerwear, order a Medium for a contemporary drape over trousers or raw denim.

If you prefer a closer, traditional sportswear silhouette where the fabric hugs the upper chest and shoulders, size down one increment.
